Having worried about working in an office due to not understanding Microsoft Office software, I was thrilled to learn about the creative features of PowerPoint. As a creative person, I had great fun learning how to insert videos, graphics, audio/music, transitions and animations. My main takeaway was the power of the ‘Master Slide’. This allows you to set up the format for all the slides in the PowerPoint. To create a Master Slide follow the following steps:
- On the View tab, click Slide Master. In Slide Master View, the slide master appears at the top of the thumbnail pane with related layouts beneath it.
- Click to select the master slide, then click Master Layout on the Slide Master tab.
- Make the updates that you want.
- To remove any built-in slide layouts that accompany the default slide master, in the slide thumbnail pane, right-click each slide layout that you want to delete, then click Delete Layout.
- To set the page orientation for all of the slides in your presentation, on the Slide Master tab, click Slide Orientation, then click either Portrait or Landscape.
- On the File tab, click Save As.
- In the File name box, type a file name.
- In the Save as type list, click PowerPoint Template, then click Save.
