The Experience Counts program introduced me to computer programs that I had not used before and I am confident to use them now. My advice is to just give it all a try. I was reluctant at first, thinking I could do not do it, but in the end I was proud of my progress.

It was nice to be with people around the same age that all have a lot of experience and how we can use that to gain employment even if it’s not work experience. My advice is to be open and share your story with the others. Listen, listen, listen.

The resume and cover letter review was amazing. I did do this 6 years ago and it is totally different now, a lot more simple and you have to get through the ATS, which I did not know existed. My advice is to keep things simple and make sure your resume follows the mantra we learnt- duties tell, accomplishments sell.

The 6 week course goes through a lot of information, which I will review in the books after the course to remember everything that was taught. My advice is to not try and do too much at once and just take each day at a time. The 6 weeks flies by. Trust me.

Overall an excellent course for people searching for a different job or setting back into the work place. My advice is to just enjoy every moment and utilize the resources offered. MCG really are the professionals.
