Strawberry Shortcake

A truly fabulous strawberry shortcake.
Ingredients
- 2 cups mashed Fresh or thawed strawberries
- 1⁄2 cup sugar or sweetener
- Whipped Cream
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup of chilled butter or shortening
- 3⁄4 cup of milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425
- Put 2 cups mashed Fresh or thawed strawberries in a bowl
- Mix 1⁄2 cup sugar or sweetener
- Pour whip cream in bowl.
- Mix at high speed with a mixer until cream starts to firm up.
- Pour in a little vanilla and some sugar 1 Tbsp)
- Continue beating until firm enough to spoon onto desert.
Tea Biscuits - Mix flour, baking powder, butter (or shortening) together with a fork until it has small lumps throughout.
- Pour in a small amount of milk and mix it in. Repeat until mixture can be rolled out on a floured space.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes.
- When cooled cut biscuits in half.
- Place 1st piece of biscuit with strawberries and repeat with second piece and then top with whipped cream.
