The workshop in the Experience Counts program based on the book,  inspired me to read the actual book.

Although the book doesn’t put forth new ideas for cognitive behavioral therapy when dealing with anxiety, some of the ideas were helpful. For example: define exactly what “being in control” means to you. I had never really considered that and what my own definition revealed about my personality surprised me. Another piece of advice from the book: take responsibility for your own feelings.  Stress and uncontrollable events happen to everyone. We can’t control that, but we can control how we react.

The personal stories that she recounted in her book can help anxiety sufferers know that they are not alone in their struggles. I strongly recommend reading this book.
