I am an avid swimmer. Swimming works every muscle in my body. Swimming is low impact and provides physical and mental health. I can maintain a healthy weight, heart and lungs as it forces me to be very aware of my breathing. It tones my muscles and builds strength. I feel very relaxed in the water alleviating my stress. I float on the surface and perform yoga exercises, which improves my flexibility, balance and posture. Swimming outside on a hot summer day is so refreshing and in the winter I can hit the rec center so it is a sport that is available all year round. I enjoy swimming on my own, but it can also be an activity to do with my friends and family as well. If you haven’t experienced it, take a lesson and try it. You will not regret it.
Staying healthy is extremely important to me.
