Technology has enabled us to have meaningful conversations and create great connections throughout the Experience Counts program, even with remote home bases and inclement weather. Whether you are joining via Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, virtual meeting platforms have opened up the possibilities of hosting effective and engaging workshops to everyone with an internet connection. Some workshops are easier to teach and learn in person. Applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are often better understood through a hands-on approach, where learners can follow along step by step and receive immediate assistance. For computer-based workshops, having support right beside you can make a significant difference. Explaining where something went wrong while navigating split screens, shared screens, or complex directions can quickly become frustrating when learning a new application independently. Despite these challenges, our coaches are committed to doing their very best to support participants both in person and virtually, ensuring learners feel guided, encouraged, and supported in both environments.
Just as we all come from different experiences, we all learn in our own way. We are very lucky to have options for the delivery of workshops. We can embrace technology and use it where it works best and recognize the value of in-person interactions.
