Sometimes when you apply for a job online, an application form will pop up after you have uploaded your resume.  Did you know that if you do not do a good job of filling out that form, your resume may not be read?  The additional form may seem tedious, but it might be the only thing that prompts the employer to follow up with your application.

A few of the reasons an application may be required are:

  • They ensure your fields are searchable by the hiring company
  • They standardize all applications for the company  
  • They confirm that any additional information the company requires is included. (What days are you available, what hours are you available, etc…).

My suggestion is to always carefully and accurately complete those additional forms!
