During the first week of session 23, we had a chance to ask questions to a previous client who recently graduated from the program. Here is what they had to say about their ‘experience’ and how they are making it ‘count’. Here are some highlights.
Q- What was the hardest part of the program for you?
A- The hardest part of the program was getting used to being in class again and being there from 9-4. I hadn’t worked in a while so this was different for me.
Q- What what the biggest thing you learned from the program?
A- The fact that networking is so important. It encouraged me to talk to everyone I know about what type of job I am looking for. It also allowed me to develop my computer skills. I didn’t think at my age I would be able to learn anything about Excel or Word. I was wrong. I also learned a lot about myself and how I need to be more confident. It was great to hear the stories of others and to know I am not alone.
Q- What has changed since you finished the workshops?
A- I am now meeting with the team and applying for positions. I had a slight change in my career goals and now want to work with seniors or people. I am also doing some volunteering to develop my skills.
